My Portfolio
Vegan Universe
Vegan Universe is a native Android app designed to support, inform and connect the vegan community in Argentina. The goal was to create a digital space that feelt both useful and alive: combining practical resources with shared values and everyday experiences.
Context
Eating habits are changing fast. In Argentina, 24% of the
population
identifies as
vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian, yet reliable information remains scattered and difficult to access.
From recipes and product labeling to restaurants and community spaces, users often had to jump between apps, websites, and social platforms just to cover the basics.
The opportunity was clear: create a single space that could support, connect, and empower the vegan community through shared values and practical tools.
My role
As the UX/UI designer on the project, I led the full design process in close collaboration with the developer and product owner.
My responsibilities included user research, interviews, synthesis, scope definition, flow design, wireframing, UI system definition, and high-fidelity prototyping, shaping the product from early exploration to a validated MVP.
Process Highlights
Early exploratory interviews with vegan users revealed a recurring pattern: people weren’t simply looking for recipes or places to eat. They were looking for reliable, community-driven content that reflected their values and everyday realities.
What they lacked wasn’t information, but organization and trust.
That insight shaped the product direction.
One of the most complex decisions was defining the home experience.
Should it prioritize the map, the content feed, or search? Through low-fidelity flow testing and later high-fidelity prototypes, different structures were explored. The clearest solution combined discovery with immediate value: a quick-access map, recent content previews, and personalized recommendations — all accessible from the first screen.
Visually, the interface was designed to feel calm and open. Light backgrounds, soft card shapes, and rounded corners helped create a sense of accessibility, while avoiding stereotypical green tones. Instead, violet accents and earthy neutrals reinforced the idea of a “vegan universe”: broader than food, rooted in identity and community.
Throughout the process, decisions went beyond individual features. The focus was on building a space where users could feel oriented, supported, and part of something larger.
Outcome
The resulting MVP reached the Google Play Store in an alpha release and was tested through moderated usability sessions with real users.
Participants were able to complete core tasks without friction, and feedback consistently validated the clarity of the structure and overall tone of the experience.
Beyond usability, a deeper pattern emerged during research and testing: many participants described feeling alone when they first became vegan, navigating choices, conversations, and social spaces without support.
That insight became the emotional backbone of the product.
Designing Vegan Universe confirmed for me that good UX is not only about function: it’s about reducing friction in people’s lives, including the emotional kind.
That realization has shaped how I approach every project since.
