My Portfolio

Terappia

Terappia is a native Android app designed to make access to mental health care simpler, clearer and more approachable.

It helps people find professionals, understand their options, and take the first step toward therapy without feeling overwhelmed.

Context

This was a solo UX/UI project developed as part of my first UX certification.

The challenge was to design a mental health app under sprint-based constraints, using real user input to simulate a realistic product scenario, one where clarity, trust, and emotional safety were as important as functionality.

My role

As the sole UX/UI designer on the project, I led the entire design process from research to visual design.

My work included user interviews, heuristic analysis, flow design, wireframing, UI system definition, and high-fidelity prototyping, shaping the product end to end.

Process Highlights

Early research and interviews revealed a consistent need: people weren’t simply looking for more information about therapy, they were looking for clarity and confidence.

Many participants described feeling intimidated or unsure when navigating mental health platforms for the first time. Reducing cognitive load and emotional friction became a central design goal.

One of the key challenges was designing the search and filtering experience.
It needed to balance flexibility for experienced users with guidance for those new to therapy.

Through iterative testing, I explored different flows and ultimately applied a progressive disclosure approach: starting simple and allowing users to go deeper only when they felt ready.

Visually, the interface was designed with clean lines, soft corners, and a calm color palette to reinforce a sense of safety and trust from the very first interaction.

Outcome

The prototype received positive feedback during early usability testing, particularly from participants who had previously struggled to navigate mental health platforms.

Beyond usability, this project highlighted the importance of tone, how language, interface, and visual decisions work together to create emotional safety..

That insight led me to deepen my skills through additional certification in UX writing, exploring how clearer, more intentional language can support more human digital experiences.
